September 13-14 Intermediate Silversmithing
Extra costs: The sterling silver used for each project.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
We recommend you have some knowledge of basic silversmithing techniques, tools and equipment.

October 25-26 Fusing and prong stone setting
Melt silver scraps to form an abstract background incorporating a stone set with prongs.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00

November 8-9 Beginning Silversmithing for Newbies
Design and fabricate sterling silver earrings, pendant or band ring by piercing, sawing, soldering texturing and polishing.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
No prior experience needed and sterling silver is provided for your first project.

November 15-16 and December 6 Wax Carving and Lost Wax Casting
This workshop includes making wax models using hard and soft waxes and preparing your model to be cast in sterling silver. By December 6 the casting will be done and your piece will be ready for you to finish, texture or polish.
Lots of information and demos showing the whole casting process.
Saturday, Sunday, and the Saturday two weeks later, 1 - 5pm each day, 12 hours of instruction, $495.00.

Prong Setting
Learn how to make prongs to hold a cabochon or free form stone in a pendant design.
Previous silversmithing experience is required for this class.

Overlay & Applique
Pierced and sawed out top layer is joined to a bottom layer using sweat soldering method.
Previous silversmithing experience is required for this class.

Chain Making
Design a sterling silver bracelet and clasp by forming and connecting round or oval links.
Previous silversmithing experience is required for this class.

​​Bezels-Plain and Decorative
Choose an option for setting a cabochon stone in a plain fine silver bezel, one with embossed pattern and prongs, or add a decorative border.
Previous silversmithing experience is required for this class.

Beginning Silversmithing for Newbies
Design and fabricate sterling silver earrings, pendant or band ring by piercing, sawing, soldering texturing and polishing.
No prior experience needed, and sterling silver is provided for your first project.

Cold Connections-Rivets and Tabs
Have fun building a jewelry piece with layers and textures, forming silver, copper, or bronze, setting stones or capturing found objects using rivets and tabs. No soldering is required.
No prior experience needed for this class.
As classes fill up, there will be a waiting list.
Our in-person workshops are designed to allow intensive class time in 4-hour blocks over a weekend.
You must sign up for both days of a 2-day workshop, or the full 3 days of the casting workshop.
With 4 students maximum in each workshop, you’ll receive personalized instruction by Hallie. Stan, my Teacher’s Assistant (and husband!) may pitch in as well!

Location: All classes will be held in our private Red House Studio in Oak View, CA about 12 minutes from downtown Ojai. It’s in a quiet residential area with ample street parking.
Payment: Full payment is due when you sign up for the class.
We will accept credit cards over the phone, or direct you to our Pay Pal account.
To enroll in a class: Call our land line (805) 649-4744 at the studio and leave a message.
We’ll call you back ASAP.
Extra Costs: In the Beginning Silversmithing class the fee includes your materials.
In Stone Setting, Applique and Overlay, Casting, Cold Connections, or Chain making classes you’ll be charged at the end of class for the Sterling Silver you’ve used for your project, and any other materials you’ve chosen to purchase.
Cancellation Policies: You may cancel up to 21 days (3 weeks) ahead of the class and receive a full refund, or take a credit for a class at a more convenient time.
After the 21-day deadline, here are the options:
If you must cancel and we are able to find another student to fill your spot, we’ll refund your full payment, or give you a credit towards another class.
If we can’t find a student to fill your spot, you’ll receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.
If we cancel the class for any reason, you’ll get a full refund.
If you miss a class you’ve enrolled in, there are no refunds or credits given.
