April 27-28 Cold Connections
Have fun building a jewelry piece with layers and textures, forming silver, copper, or bronze, setting stones or capturing found objects using rivets and tabs. There are unlimited possibilities and no soldering is required!
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Extra costs: Materials for your project.

May 18-19 Sweat Soldering, Applique and Overlay
Learn how to very neatly join sawed out decorative elements or a larger pierced design to a sheet of silver using a technique called Sweat Soldering. Perfect for adding details to a ring, cuff bracelet or pendant. Texture the background with stamps or burs.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Extra costs: The sterling silver you use will be weighed, and depending on your project it may cost between $6.00 – $20.00.

June 22-23 Chain Making
Design a sterling silver bracelet by forming and connecting traditional round or oval links, or get creative and freeform it. Explore options for a closing hook or clasp. This project is a great way to perfect your soldering skills.

July 13-14 and 20 Wax Carving and Lost Wax Casting
This 3 day workshop includes making wax models using hard and soft waxes, preparing to cast your model, and all the steps to a finished piece.
Saturday, Sunday, and the following Saturday, 1 - 5pm each day,12 hours of instruction, $495.00
Extra costs: Sterling silver used for your project.
Please note: Before taking this Three-day Casting Workshop, we recommend you have some knowledge of basic silversmithing techniques, tools and equipment.

August 17-18 Beginning Silversmithing
Designing and fabrication of a completed project in sterling silver, using all the hand tools for basic silversmithing. Make a pair of earrings, pendant or a band ring with techniques like piercing and sawing, soldering, texturing, forming and polishing. We have lots of ideas, patterns, and sample projects to inspire you.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
No extra costs: Sterling Silver is provided for your project in this class.
Silver chains are available to purchase.
No previous experience is necessary for this class.

September 21-22 Rings and Things
Silversmithing and soldering techniques, stamping and surface textures, setting a cabochon stone in a bezel.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Extra costs: The sterling silver you use will be weighed, and depending on your project it may cost between $10.00 – $25.00. Also, if you need any, stones are available to purchase.

As classes fill up, there will be a waiting list.
Our in-person workshops are designed to allow intensive class time in 4-hour blocks over a weekend.
You must sign up for both days of a 2-day workshop, or the full 3 days of the casting workshop.
With 4 students maximum in each workshop, you’ll receive personalized instruction by Hallie. Stan, my Teacher’s Assistant (and husband!) may pitch in as well!

Location: All classes will be held in our private Red House Studio in Oak View, CA about 12 minutes from downtown Ojai. It’s in a quiet residential area with ample street parking.
Payment: Full payment is due when you sign up for the class.
We will accept credit cards over the phone, or direct you to our Pay Pal account.
To enroll in a class: Call our land line (805) 649-4744 at the studio and leave a message.
We’ll call you back ASAP.
Extra Costs: In the Beginning Silversmithing class the fee includes your materials.
In Stone Setting, Applique and Overlay, Casting, Cold Connections, or Chain making classes you’ll be charged at the end of class for the Sterling Silver you’ve used for your project, and any other materials you’ve chosen to purchase.
Cancellation Policies: You may cancel up to 21 days (3 weeks) ahead of the class and receive a full refund, or take a credit for a class at a more convenient time.
After the 21-day deadline, here are the options:
If you must cancel and we are able to find another student to fill your spot, we’ll refund your full payment, or give you a credit towards another class.
If we can’t find a student to fill your spot, you’ll receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.
If we cancel the class for any reason, you’ll get a full refund.
If you miss a class you’ve enrolled in, there are no refunds or credits given.
