June 24-25 Stone Setting and Basic Silversmithing This Class is full.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Design a ring or pendant and bezel set a cabochon stone. Cabochon refers to the cut – domed on top and flat on the bottom. You will learn how to use the tools for techniques like piercing and sawing, soldering, texturing, forming and polishing.
Extra costs: Sterling silver used in this project. Gemstones at reasonable prices available if you don’t have one.
No previous experience necessary for this class.

July 22-23 Applique and Overlay
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Learn how to very neatly join sawed out decorative elements or a larger pierced design to a sheet of silver using a technique called Sweat Soldering. Perfect for adding details to a ring, cuff bracelet or pendant. Texture the background with stamps or burs.
Extra costs: The sterling silver you use will be weighed, and depending on your project it may cost between $6.00 – $20.00.

August 19-20 Beginning Silversmithing
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Designing and fabrication of a completed project in sterling silver, using all the hand tools for basic silversmithing. Make a pair of earrings, pendant or a band ring with techniques like piercing and sawing, soldering, texturing, forming and polishing. We have lots of ideas, patterns, and sample projects to inspire you.
No extra costs: Sterling Silver is provided for your project in this class.
Silver chains are available to purchase.
No previous experience is necessary for this class.

September 23-24 Cold Connections
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Have fun building a jewelry piece with layers and textures, forming silver, copper, or bronze, setting stones or capturing found objects using rivets and tabs. There are unlimited possibilities and no soldering is required!
Extra costs: Materials for your project.
No previous experience necessary for this class.
October 28-29 Chain Making
Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5pm each day, 8 hours of instruction, $295.00
Design a sterling silver bracelet by forming and connecting traditional round or oval links, or get creative and freeform it. Explore options for a closing hook or clasp. This project is a great way to perfect your soldering.
Extra costs: Sterling silver for your chain will be weighed, and depending on the wire you choose and the length of the chain, the cost could be approx. $10.00 to $25.

A Wax Carving and Lost Wax Casting class will be offered in the near future. Please let us know if you are interested.
Our in-person workshops are designed to allow intensive class time in 4-hour blocks over weekend.
You must sign up for both days of a 2-day workshop, or the full 3 days of the casting workshop.
With 4 students maximum in each workshop, you’ll receive personalized instruction by Hallie.
Stan, my Teacher’s Assistant (and husband!) may pitch in as well!
As classes fill up there will be a waiting list.
Location: All classes will be held in our private Red House Studio in Oak View, CA about 12 minutes from downtown Ojai. It’s in a quiet residential area with ample street parking.
Payment: Full payment is due when you sign up for the class.
We will accept credit cards over the phone, or direct you to our Pay Pal account.
To enroll in a class: Call our land line (805) 649-4744 at the studio and leave a message.
We’ll call you back ASAP.
Extra Costs: In the Beginning Silversmithing class the fee includes your materials.
In Stone Setting, Applique and Overlay, Casting, Cold Connections, or Chain making classes you’ll be charged at the end of class for the Sterling Silver you’ve used for your project, and any other materials you’ve chosen to purchase.
Cancellation Policies: You may cancel up to 21 days (3 weeks) ahead of the class and receive a full refund, or take a credit for a class at a more convenient time.
After the 21-day deadline, here are the options:
If you must cancel and we are able to find another student to fill your spot, we’ll refund your full payment, or give you a credit towards another class.
If we can’t find a student to fill your spot, you’ll receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.
If we cancel the class for any reason, you’ll get a full refund.
If you miss a class you’ve enrolled in, there are no refunds or credits given.
